I first encountered the sport of Kabaddi in my first year of University when I attended a sports tournament in 2013. Having watched it for the first time I was impressed by the action and intensity of the game and couldn’t wait to try it out. Later in the year I attended a taster session hosted by Imperial College Kabaddi Club and haven’t looked back since.
I played for Imperial for 3 years over which the club has grown from just 14 players and 2 men’s teams to over 30 players with 3 men’s teams and 1 women’s team. Since graduating from Imperial in 2017 I have continued playing Kabaddi for the newly formed Birmingham Kabaddi Club with matches taking place against the newly formed London Kabaddi Club every month since September 2017.
The sport has given me a lot in terms of entertainment, success and has grown in popularity. So I decided to give something back to the sport and create a place where you can find out about Kabaddi and keep up to date with the global game as it goes from strength to strength.
If you have any questions or suggestions then please email me, also if you are interested in playing Kabaddi and you’re from England let me know and I’ll get back in touch with you as early as possible.
